This training provides maritime and facility personnel with information that assists in fulfilling the U.S. Coast Guard requirements found in 46 CFR 39.1011.These USCG vapor control safety regulations apply to tank ships, tank barges, and transfer facilities that use vapor control systems or VCS to collect and control cargo vapors emitted to or from a vessel’s cargo tanks during transfers.
This program is an update of our Deckhand Orientation and Injury Prevention program and includes the additional requirements found in the Subchapter M regulations. 46 CFR 140. 410 Safety Orientation requires that prior to getting underway for the first time on a particular vessel each crewmember must receive this orientation. This program covers the ten training topics required in the regulation.
OSHA requires an 8 hour annual refresher training for workers that have received initial 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPER training. This 10 module refresher curriculum has been developed specifically for maritime workers that are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or related health hazards. Upon completion of the curriculum and one hour of hands on training or drills, a certificate of training will be issued.
